phone disconnect

1 years standard sub and i used to disconnect the phone thereafter.
Sky+ sub is about to reach 1 year, can I disconnect this now? or have
sky tied my in to keep it going on this system?

unless you are using multi room you can disconnect.

But maybe keep the lead handy because it's cheaper and quicker to buy
special events such as football matches etc. using the box dialer than
doing it by making voice phone calls.

yes I have multiroom, why? does this make a difference? both started same
time
so why can I not disconnect? are they stopping the movement of the second
box
to another locale?

Sky check that all boxes on a single multiroom contract are on the same
phone line; this stops people getting multiroom and then giving the card

In the early days of Sky Digital there were reports of it, and people
getting letters "reminding them" of their obligations. Since Sky
bought out the Open consortium I think the incentive to be quite so
worried about it went.

We had Sky Digital installed 1st October 1998, after a few days we
disconnected from the phone line, never had a letter.

The worst that can happen is that you are billed Ł25.

to their brother/second cousin in Leeds/etc and hence giving another
household the same subscription as them for free (or Ł10 if the second
household pays back the first household).

Your multiroom contract states that you must have both boxes connected
to the same phone line, and Sky will definitely start sending letters if
you disconnect one or both.

If you have multiroom your contact states that both boxes must be connected
to the phone line at all times.
If you disconnect one, Sky will change your sub to two separate
subscriptions, i.e. it will cost you a lot more.
