Borneo vs. Palau

What is the difference in visibility, diversity and ability to snorkel
between Sipidan area in Borneo and Palau? We found that Palau was great

First thing you need to understand is that you can no longer stay on
Sipadan.

Therefore, you are more likely going to be staying on Mabul, but perhaps
Kapalai?

It will be easier to answer your question about the snorkelling if you tell
us where you plan to stay and which resort.

on all three counts, you could see a great deal without even diving.

might be less? I ask about snorkling because one of us doesn't dive and
would like to still be able to see something.

As "Chilly" says......you need to decide where your going to
stay.....Sipadan is out, but there is good snorkling to be had there if
your partner goes with you to dive there......

I'll second that!! Especially around 4:30 pm when the bumphead parrots head
for the dropoff. Wow!! What a rush.

You would either stay on Mabul, there is a beach on Mabul so snorkling
would be ok there......and on Kapalai, the place is on stilts.....you

I'm not so sure about that, but maybe over at Sipadan Water Village (which
is actually located on Mabul) it would be OK. But I sure wouldn't try to
get a snorkeller too excited about it.

would get snorkling there also, good vis on kapalai, but also poor vis on
occasions....get your partner diving is my recomendation.....you could
always stay on my favourite place...."Seaventures" dive platform.....no
snorkling from there but......who cares, the diving underneath is the
best.....
