As it was from the front,
and from the back.
The bathroom was to be enlarged.
The flat roof and balcony had seen better days.
Week 1
The garage roof went into the skip.
Everything gets stripped back.
The foundations are exposed along the side
so that the garage wall can be thickened.
The study lost its roof.
Week 2
The scaffolding went up over the weekend.
The first floor wall started to go up.
There is not much left of the bathroom
and nothing at all of the garage roof.
Week 3
The back wall is finished.
The new floor area is nearly enclosed.
The study wall has been knocked through
There is a new opening into the toilet.
New joists have been put over the garage.
Week 4
The lintel over the garage door has been placed.
The wall is completed around the bedroom.
Everything is ready for the roof.
From behind it takes shape.
Week 5,6
After a short delay the roof arrived.
All the roof trusses were put into place.
A steel beam supports the roof at the entrance to en-suite.
The inside space of the bedroom is formed.
More scaffolding has been brought in.
New soffits have been fitted all round.
Week 7
Exterior doors are installed.
All the windows are glazed.
The interior is almost sealed.
Frames for the partition walls are being put together.
Felt and battons are on most of the roof.
The tiles are waiting at the front to be put on.
Week 8
Iterior partition walls between bedroom and en-suite are done.
Roof tiling is done except for the corner joins.
A soak away has been dug for gutter run-off.
The bedroom ceiling has been plasterboarded.
Guttering is mostly ready for the rain.
The old balcony door is being bricked up.
The utility room has a ceiling and wiring.
Week 9
The scaffolding has been taken down.
Outside only the porch and drainpipes are left to do.
The bedroom has a floor.
The bathroom has been partitoned from the en-suite.
Week 10
Plastering has been stated in the bedroom.
The door frames are in place.
Boiler cupboard in the bathroom.
Garage ceiling has plasterboard.
Week 11
The plaster in the bedroom has dried out.
The porch roof joists has been trimmed to the new size.
A new water inlet pipe is being laid.
And the foul water outflow has a new manhole.
Week 12 and 13
Porch roof is done.
There are now doors and skirting boards.
A new hot water tank has been installed.
And one of the radiators.
Week 14
The bathroom has been plastered.
The Utility room has been plastered too.
Study and toilet floor has been leveled.
The bathroom and en-suite fittings are lined up to go in.
Week 15
Steam shower is in place.
Electrician continues to add fittings.
